[2. MINUTES.]
THE WHOLE TO ORDER. WE SHOULD HAVE THE MINUTES OF THE MAY FOR COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING.I HAVE A MOTION TO APPROVE. >> SPEAKER: SO MOVED.
>> SPEAKER: SECOND. >> SPEAKER: ALL AND FAVORABLY
SAY AIKO. >> SPEAKER: ANYBODY HAVE A
[3. QUESTIONS ON THE AGENDA. ]
QUESTION ON THAT TONIGHT'S AGENDA?>> SPEAKER: I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING ON TONIGHT'S AGENDA BUT HAVE A QUESTION FOR THE CITY MANAGER.
>> SPEAKER: GO AHEAD. >> SPEAKER: I KNOW LAST COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE I BROUGHT UP THE COX ROAD WIDENING AND STRIPING AND CURRENTLY IS SET TO HAS TWO TRAFFIC WEIGHT LINES AND TWO BIKE LANES ON EACH SIDE OF THE ROAD.
BUT I HAVE BEEN TALKING TO A LOT OF MY CONSTITUENTS AND THEY ARE YET TO FIND SOMEBODY THAT AGREES WITH THAT.
THEY ALL FEEL AS I DO TOO THAT WOULD BE BETTER AND SAFER TO HAVE THREE LANES ONE OF WHICH WOULD BE A TURN LANE THAT WOULD GO FROM LONGLEAF TO VETERANS AND FROM -- THE THREE LANES OF GO FROM LONGLEAF BETWEEN LONGLEAF AND WIRE MULTIUSE WHICH IS GREAT. WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT.
I THINK IT WOULD BE SAFER FOR EVERYBODY INVOLVED INCLUDING BICYCLISTS TO HAVE THE TURN LANE IN THE MIDDLE AND TWO TRAFFIC LANES ON EACH SIDE. I WOULD LIKE TO DISCUSS THAT THE NEXT COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING IF THAT'S POSSIBLE.
>> SPEAKER: 'S COUNSEL OKAY WITH THAT WE WILL SET TIME AT THE NEXT MEETING WHICH IS JUNE THE 1ST DURING THE MANY OF THE WHOLE TO HAVE A DISCUSSION AMONGST THE COUNSEL ABOUT THIS TOPIC. IS THAT OKAY?
>> SPEAKER: 6:45, 6:30? >> SPEAKER: WE WILL SET THE TIME. LET ME TALK WITH CITY ENGINEER FRAZIER. THE OTHER THING WE HAVE TO DO IS WE HAVE AN ACTIVE CONTRACT ON THIS AND WE NEED TO CHECKED WITH THE CONTRACT TO SEE WHERE THEY ARE.
I WILL BE VERY FRANK, WE ARE ALL CLEARED IS NOT A FAST-MOVING CONTRACT AT THIS STAGE. I'M NOT CONFIDENT THAT IT WOULD BE PRIOR TO THE NEXT COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING BUT I NEED TO BE SURE AND WE HAVE SOME CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS WITH THEM. I WILL DO SOME CHECKING AND IF THERE ARE ANY ISSUES YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT AND THIS NEEDS TO BE DISCUSSED SOONER THAN THE COUNSEL IS WILLING I WILL LET
YOU KNOW. >> SPEAKER: I APPRECIATE THE PATIENCE WITH THE PROJECT. I KNOW IT HAS BEEN TRYING.
BUT THEY WORK REALLY HARD ON IT. WE JUST FEEL LIKE IT'S BETTER
WITH THE THREE LANES. >> SPEAKER: I CERTAINLY UNDERSTAND AND WE APPRECIATE THE PATIENCE OF THE RESIDENCE.
IT'S BEEN A CHALLENGING PROCESS BUT A VERY NECESSARY ONE.
>> SPEAKER: ANYONE ELSE ON THE COUNCIL HAVE ANY TYPE OF COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS REGARDING TONIGHT'S AGENDA? CITY MANAGER, ANYTHING WE NEED TO KNOW TONIGHT, ANY CHANGES?
>> SPEAKER: NO CHANGES TO THE AGENDA.
ON THE AGENDA THAT YOU SEE THERE IS A MINOR CHANGE.
IT SAYS ON ITEM EIGHT BE, THAT THERE IS A RETAIL BEER OFF-AND-ON PREMISE ONLY. IT IS AN OFF PREMISES ONLY.
YOUR AGENDA ITEM IS CORRECT. THE AGENDA ITEM LISTS IT INCORRECTLY. BOTH THE BEER AND THE ONE RETAIL LIQUOR LICENSE ARE FOR OFF PREMISES ONLY.
>> SPEAKER: OKAY. MOVED A MOVE TO ADJOURN?
>> SPEAKER: SO MOVED. >> SPEAKER: COMMITTEE OF THE HOLES ADJOURN. WE WILL START
