IT IS MY HONOR TO NOMINATE DUSTIN ROGERS AS EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH FOR AUGUST 2025. DUSTIN JOINED THE WATERSHED DIVISION IN FEBRUARY 2020 AS A STORMWATER COORDINATOR. DUSTIN'S DUTIES INCLUDE IMPLEMENTING THE CITY'S EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL INSPECTION AND ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM AND PERFORMING STORMWATER POST CONSTRUCTION INSPECTIONS AND PERFORMING STORMWATER OUTFALL INSPECTIONS. WHICH ARE ALL COMPONENTS OF THE CITY'S PHASE 2 MUNICIPAL SEPARATE STORM SEWER SYSTEM PROGRAM. RECENTLY DUSTIN TOOK THE INITIATIVE TO RESEARCH UTILITY TERRAIN VEHICLES TO DETERMINE WHICH WOULD HELP PERFORM INSPECTIONS MORE EFFICIENTLY ON LARGER CONSTRUCTION SITES AND DUSTIN ALSO MAINTAINED HIS UAS REMOTE DRONE PILOT LICENSE WHICH ENABLES THE USE OF DRONES FOR INSPECTIONS. BOTH THE UTV AND THE UAS REMAIN DRONE PILOT AND LICENSE POSITIVELY EXPAND THE EFFECTIVENESS AND EFFICIENCY OF THE CITY'S CONSTRUCTION SITE EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL INSPECTIONS. OUTSIDE OF NORMAL WORKING HOURS, DUSTIN HELPED THE WALT WATERSHED'S MANAGER. DUSTIN ORGANIZES AND PARTICIPATES IN STREAM CLEAN-UPS LIKE THE ONE ON THE MILL CREEK THAT TOOK PLACE LAST MAY. DUSTIN PROMOTES TEAM UNITY BY WORKING WITH CO-WORKERS AND OTHER CITY DEPARTMENTS TO COMPLETE TASKS. SUCH AS PILOTING THE DRONE FOR PICTURES OF THE WATER BOARD'S WATER TANKS AND LAKE OGLE TREESINKHOLES. HE DOESN'T HESITATE TO INVESTIGATE A COMPLAINT FROM A CITIZEN AND HE PROVIDES FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH DISTINCTION. FOR THESE REASONS AND MANY OTHERS I WOULD LIKE TO RECOGNIZE DUSTIN ROGERS AS THE AUGUST EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH.

DO YOU KNOW PROCEDURE AND HANDLING HOMELESSNESS? WHAT THE POLICE DOES AND SO FORTH? I STILL HAVE NOT SEEN THIS COUNCIL ADDRESS THE ISSUE WITH OUR POLICE DEPARTMENT CONCERNING WARD 1 THAT'S BEEN BROUGHT UP IN THE PAST. THIS COUNCIL HAS BECOME TOO NAIVE.
